On the V5.1 ReportServer - Export data from MySQL DB to CSV files

Note: Download RS Migration.zip first.

  1. Create an export folder - the default is 'c:\temp\export'
  2. Copy ExportData.sql to the MySQL bin folder
  3. Run the following command from the MySQL bin folder
    mysql.exe --user root --password=yourrootpassword a5reports < ExportData.sql
  4. Copy the generated CSV files to the V6 Storage Platform, i.e. 'c:\temp\export'

On the V6 Storage Platform - Create a temp DB and import the V5.1 data

Note: Before you complete the following, ensure that your V6 AccountServer has been installed with the Migration option enabled so that your V5.1 NameServer tables are migrated to the V6 Storage Platform.

  1. Open a Command Prompt in the folder containing the .CSV files, i.e. 'c:\temp\export'
  2. Run sqlcmd.exe /? in the Command Prompt to verify that SQL tools are available
  3. Copy all the files in the RS Migration folder into the folder containing the .CSV files, i.e. 'c:\temp\export'
  4. Run the following script command within this folder using the Command Prompt:
    sqlcmd -S .\SQLEXPRESS -E -i CreateDB.sql
  5. Run import.bat
  6. Open the SP Console and monitor the AccountServer logs - wait until all the templates have loaded, i.e. Adding new report template
  7. Run the MigrareData.sql script:
    sqlcmd -S .\SQLEXPRESS -E -i MigrareData.sql
