Files with extended characters on a Linux client gives a RPC error in the SP Console.

When a folder that contains file/folder names with extended characters (eg. ê, ë, ô), is clicked in the Backup Selection tree in the SP Console, the following error is displayed:


The LANG and/or LC_ANY environment variables contains invalid values after a reboot.


Edit the /usr/bin/a5backup script and find the following lines in the script:

if [ $LANG="POSIX" ]; then
  export LANG=en_US.utf8

Add the following 3 lines after the above:

if [ $LC_ALL="POSIX" ]; then
  export LC_ALL=en_US.utf8

Save the file and restart the Attix5 Pro service.
